2024 was the worst year of my life. I spent it in a haze of pain and sorrow. I listened to a lot of music, but much of it was from previous years. I didn't update this website for two years. As I did with 2023, I rated my top 50 albums before reading any top album lists. But unlike 2023, the music of 2024 has a painful context that I can never forget. With that in mind, my picks were the farthest from aligning with with other lists of any year I've done. The title for this bleak year is from What's Love off of Empress Of's incredible album
